Toshiyuki Goto

8In the late 80's, he started DJ-ing at clubs around Tokyo. In 1991, he decided to move to the United States by himself and worked as a DJ for Party "Acme Disco" (NYC) from 1994 to 1995. In 1996, he released "Tribe" and "Drifting" (Wave Music NYC), a collaboration unit with jazz keyboardist KIKUCHI Masaaki, under the name of MATO on Francois K's label. This is when he really began to focus on producing.In 2002, he released his first full-length album "Two-Way Traffic" under the name of Toshiyuki Goto, followed by "progressivefunk". His second album "No Illusion" was released in '07.He has released many original singles and mix CDs on both domestic and international labels. He has also released remixes for artists like Idris Muhammad, Disco Dub Band, The Love Grocer, and has collaborated with Hiroshi Fujiwara, Yusuke Chiba, and others in Japan.After moving back to Japan in 2003, he’s played at YELLOW "Voyage" in Nishiazabu, AIR "The Garden" in Daikanyama, CIELO (NYC), CLUB SHELTER (NYC), and many places in Europe. In '15, he played at the closing party of MI-BIZA in IBIZA (SPAIN). He is currently a regular DJ at "Sunday Afternoon" DJ Bar Bridge (sat) at Contact in Tokyo, and does regular gigs in and around Tokyo.
